Liberty Living build and run UK student residences and a £1bn+ property portfolio. I worked full-time as in-house Graphic Designer for two years based at their head office in the Gherkin. I returned there last summer, and I continue to work on projects from my home now as their first choice freelancer.
For funders and investors I designed and produced information packs, fact sheets and reports. For student residents marketing and information materials – print, website and online communications. Digital work has included a variety of email mailshots, social media infographics, and graphics for the company’s websites and online booking system which I also helped maintain and update. I designed signage for buildings and offices, advertising campaigns, welcome packs, maps, safety notices, flyers, display banners, guides, posters, VDU screens and many other items.
Working there full-time I was in a team with the CEO, COO/Marketing Manager, Design and Production Manager, Creative Artworker and IT experts. During that time we commissioned an external Facebook Consultant who advised us as we designed and developed a social media strategy. We created a complete Facebook presence for the brand with business pages for each of the 43 student residences. We designed Liberty Living branded Facebook ‘apps’ and gathered and input images and information onto pages. After launch we provided guidance and suggested content for Residence Management Teams. We coached and supported social media ‘newbies’ as they began to engage with their residents and the world of Facebook.
At the start of each academic year student welcome packs include a handy guide to the new resident’s chosen University city. Each of the 17 Liberty Living city flyers contains student-centred information and I drew up maps pinpointing the locations of student accommodation, further education establishments, as well as stations, social and landmark attractions.
